The Pain Point
The WP Amelia plugin, while robust for appointment scheduling and management, lacks a native feature for importing bookings from other systems. This limitation can be a significant hurdle for businesses looking to migrate to WP Amelia or consolidate their booking data. Users have voiced concerns about the need for an easy import function to facilitate smooth operations and data management.
My Solution
After going through the booking import process several times, I've developed a reliable method that works. By leveraging phpMyAdmin for database access and using advanced Excel formulas, I've managed to successfully import bookings more than once, including a migration for a medical center with over 3,000 bookings, 20+ services, and 30+ employees.
How It Works
- Prepare Your Data: Start by organizing your booking data in Excel. Use formulas like VLOOKUP, UNIQUE, and MATCH to format your booking data correctly, so that it matches WP Amelia’s database structure. This step is crucial for ensuring data integrity and compatibility.
- Database Import: With your data ready, import it into WP Amelia's database via phpMyAdmin. This involves careful mapping to ensure all details are accurately transferred.
